Forgiveness

Forgiveness is not always easy, and often times its easier to be angry and remember than to forgive and forget. Growing up parents always tell us “forgive and forget” … its a phrase heard all over the world. But is it really that easy? I used to find it hard to forgive someone so easily and to just forget what happened and move on. But once I started trusting God and bringing him into my life more, I realized how much easier it was for me. When you think about forgiveness, remember the one who shows us the most forgiveness. The one who died on the cross to take away our sins. No matter where you are at in your life or what you have done, God forgives you, and he will continue to forgive you over and over. Jesus forgives those who sinned against others, and those who sinned against him. JESUS wants us to forgive others the way that he forgives us. We are supposed to love one another and love our neighbors, but love is not perfect. There will always be times where loving those around us and forgiving those who have hurt us is not easy. When those times arise and you feel yourself sinking, say this prayer “Lord, Help me to forgive the way that you have forgave me. Help me to love others the way in which you have loved me and those around me. For your Grace is enough, and I want to live my life for you. I want to live my life more like you. In Jesus name we pray Amen!”
